The particular and complex logistics involved in recording albums and singles with singers, musicians and sound engineers living in Europe and on the American continent was an exceptionally successful experience, and also led to encounters that enriched the songs with their cultural diversity.
Halfway through its journey, the pandemic hit, slowing down or even halting the band’s trajectory, but it rose to the challenge and chose to face it head-on and stay united.
That said, the planned tours were abandoned, and the Gumbo Square Band remained in port, continuing to produce and seek other avenues.
Today, a new page is turned. The Gumbo Square Band is taking a break from production to prepare for the stage. A major step for this atypical band, which will continue on its way.
However, the ongoing wars and the economic situation could thwart the band’s roadmap.
If this proves to be the case, the group will become even more involved in one way or another, its existence being linked to current events and societal themes, as well as to this new world that it will embrace to better bear witness to it.
A brand new horizon is now wide open for this unique band. The adventure goes on…
